mine arrived last week... thanks for the quick reply on this. the pieces however don't seem to necessarily need the pinky, do they? I think the problem is, the angle of that finger is different from the others, perhabs that is the reason I also find the tone not too convincing. interestingly enough by playing the piano...

I have to sort of disagree here. From my POV: Taking lessons will always be good to learn about proper technique, musicality and musical traditions, to get feedback and being stopped when your practise becomes stuck in a dead end street . If you have a good teacher, you'll also get inside...
