    Latest Demo Work. Beatdown?

Yea, I only have a multiband comp on the toms with conservative settings. I'll filter out some of the lows on the floor tom and maybe turn them down a smidge.

    Latest Demo Work. Beatdown?

Working on some clips to put on my studio website. Drums seem a little loud to me, but it may work for this type of song. Guitars are Amplitube. Drums are programmed Seraph Samples. Bass is Squier Jazz split to sub and Sansamp PSA-1 for dirt.

    Bass tone

Sounds pretty good, dude! I'd give the bass a little more top end clang/grind. If you have a multiband comp, target some GR on the low band, and it should brighten up a bit. Really digging the production! Sick!

How to get a smack in your face snare sound?

Make sure to EQ first (HPF, boost to taste around 120-200, 4k, 8k). Then compress, experimenting with the attack/release. This is where you are really gonna get the "smack". Then use a clipper to give it some level without eating up headroom. Don't be afraid to get extreme!

Latest Mix -- Witcher (Pray for Me)

Thanks!!! I definitely need to practice with programmed drums. After giving it a break and listening again, I thought the bass could have been brought up as well. Thanks for the advice!!

    Pro Tools 10/Windows 8 Support

I just installed Windows 8 and besides it's extremely awesome and badass presentation, my Pro Tools doesn't work! Giving me the good 'ole DAE Error -13001. So, do any of you guys know how to get around this, or if Avid is feverishly making an update for those who have upgraded to W8?
