    Megadeth?

    Congrats Chris! I'm sure it will be a great high paying gig. Just remember a few things to get along with Dave if you don't know him that well (I'm just being honest, not trying to degrade Dave. He is-who-he-is and I respect that, but these tips will save your job! You've worked for a few...

    Bought an Engl SE, how do I set it Chris?

    I found a KILLER sound on the SE:rock: I decided to change to tubes to Mullard reissue EL34's instead of the 6L6's, and I found out the tube selector switch was set to EL34 from the factory with 6L6 tubes in it!??? No wonder it didn't sound good.

    Bought an Engl SE, how do I set it Chris?

    ^ All very true, thanks. Just looking for a good starting point since this thing seems hard to dial in- like a Mesa. Took me years to finally get a great rhythm sound with the Dual Rectifier because I was missing an input booster to tighten it up, but the Mesa clean and lead sounds still...

    Bought an Engl SE, how do I set it Chris?

    I got a killer deal on an SE 760 6L6. Awesome amp, but I'm having trouble finding a thick, ultra-heavy tone because of all of the options (it's a little overwhelming). Chris, I watched the YouTube video of you practicing for Nevermore using the SE (EL34 version with Blue lights I think?) and...

    Studio Quad effects live?

    Cool, thanks. Strange that you'd even list the Quad if you don't use it, or why you'd want to upgrade to a T.C.E. G-Force? Do you use the spring reverb on the Engl SE itself? (the SE is on the latest YouTube NM rehearsal vid- Powerball just a backup now?)

    Studio Quad effects live?

    Chris, I've read about the effects that you use in studio recordings, but your live setup is mono right, so which effects on the Digitech studio quad do you use live with that Engl? I think I hear a little hall reverb and delay on the leads, how many milleseconds works best for your style...

    Question to Chris

    Wow, old thread, but while doing a search for 'effects' this one came up (nervousness effects people in very different amounts). Just wanted to add that my wife is a psychologist and she says there are medications available for performance anxiety that are very mild (won't effect your...

    Specific Gear question for you Chris;

    Hehe, thanks dude (I think). Yeah, I've owned some cool equipment (funded by being a Delta jet mechanic for 15 years, and my wifes a Psychologist.) I have a bunch of photo's here: http://mypeoplepc.com/members/paulchurch/skullhammer/id2.html

    Engl SE 670- EL34's or 6L6's?

    Cool, thanks again for your reply. I have an SE on the way! I chose the 6L6 version after playing Brian Hoffman's. It has the Red lights inside which I like better also. Like you said, I can always swap the tubes around- I have a brand new set of Mullard EL34 Repro's I could try.

    Specific Gear question for you Chris;

    Cool, thanks for the info Chris. I checked those speakers out, looks interesting. Dr.Z amps says to mix two G12H30's with 2 regular Vintage 30's in an "X" pattern for some great results. I've tried the Bogner idea with 2 GT75's and 2 V30's in an "X" pattern, but the problem there is that...

    Engl SE 670- EL34's or 6L6's?

    Which version sounds better for thrash/death metal? It's hard to tell from the clips on the website.

    Specific Gear question for you Chris;

    ^That's a good point also, but I still recognize a certain scratchy/clicky sound in his playing that I've become familiar with from using EMG's. What's strange is that I had become so accustomed to EMG's that I didn't even realize that I was making that noise. My drummer/vocalist complained...

    Specific Gear question for you Chris;

    Thanks for the good word! I know exactly what you're talking about noob posts, I've seen hundreds of them myself on forums just like this. Your response was right on the mark 90% of the time. Like I said, hope I didn't come off as being egotistical either, because I'm my own worst critic...

    Specific Gear question for you Chris;

    Thanks, your post would normally be good advice to most people, but: as a matter of fact, I do have that much 'lying around', I have researched older threads (see my post, as I did list what the equipment probably was, but I'd like to know if it's correct for that specific clip), and I have...
