    Creating MIDI drums!

It's actually possible to take a single track of a drum kit and separate it out into individual MIDI tracks using Melodyne. Using the percussive algorithm, you can move different hits such as kick, snare, etc. onto different "notes" and then export them as MIDI files. If you use Presonus Studio...

    Mesa Dual Rectifier Recording

Hey guys, I just got this amp and this was the first chance I had to play it through my (admittedly, not that great) 4X12. Typically I would quad track a song like this, but I just doubled these so that the tone was a little more true. Please feel free to offer feedback and (constructive)...

    Need snare FX Chain ideas!

One of the most important parts of my snare drum sound is making sure it sounds good and in phase in the overheads. I always mic top and bottom and blend the two to taste. I almost always sample replace, but I make the sample myself using the drummers snare (unless it sucks, in which case I'd...

    Acoustic Treatment Questions

Oh! I forgot to post the height. The ceiling height is 7' 6", but it is a drop ceiling, so it is not very reflective. Also, the front, right, and back walls are all painted block while the left wall is dry wall.

    Acoustic Treatment Questions

Forgive my crude paint drawing, but this is my current room set up. And the door is no longer an issue, as I have made it so that what was my main entry is now obsolete and the double door is my main entry/exit. So I shouldn't have any issues in that corner anymore.

    Acoustic Treatment Questions

I am finally making the investment in treating my room. I am on a somewhat limited budget though. Here are the challenges and questions I have. -The left corner of my front wall has a door in the corner, preventing me from installing a bass trap that floats the corner (it would block the...

EDIT: I'm not sure why this was double posted. I guess the mods have to be the ones to delete it?

    Hardcore mix.

Funny, I use those same two mics on my 4X12. I find that the i5 does much better in the higher frequencies than the 57. I use it centered on the dust cap. Everything is clear, cuts, and doesn't sound "fuzzy" or have that annoying spike at 2.5k that the 57 has. However, I've found that the 57...

    Hardcore mix.

Great job so far! I think everything sounds good, and the levels are pretty much right on. If this was my band, I'd ask you to turn the guitars down 1db and the vocals up 1 db. Seems like the guitars are masking the vocals too much for my taste. It almost sounds like the guitars are...

This is awesome! I love Katy's voice so much, and you did a great job making the song sound convincing in that style. Please do more!
