Saving for an ENGL V60 4x12.

The ENGL cabs with V60s sound simply amazing with my 6505. The Mesa Rectifier/Marshall 1960s don't even come close.

Ahh I worked it out, I ended up twisting the wires together and then heatshrinking them. When I first played it it had crystal cleans but no drive at all (while on the lead channel with pregain on 6 on a 6505, so obviously it should have been screaming), but it turns out I had the battery in...

Do the wires need to be soldered? Couldn't you just twist them together and tape them, or use one of those wire joiner things with the screw in the middle? But thanks for that, I'll check it out.

Thanks dude. Did you find your 707 was stupidly muddy and bassy, even when you turned down the bass and resonance? I can't get a good trebely, gainy tone from mine (and thats the kind of tone I like) so I'm hoping the 81 will fix :).

Don't all active EMGs use 25k pots? Both pickups are active, and both use a 3 pin Quik Connection so my uneducated guess is it should work?

Ah I really just wanna stick to the EMG81, its THE pickup for me. Will the swap work or not? I have to drive an hour to get there, so I really don't wanna waste the petrol (I'm 18, have fuck all money) if I don't need to.

I've got them in the bridge and neck and I don't like them. Way too much bottom end and not enough gain. So yeah, can I directly swap mine with the other guys?
