    Soo...Christmas time, who's getting what?

I'm on month 6 of researching new interfaces, with a deadline of Christmas... Was pretty sure it was going to be a Saffire Pro 40, but the Scarlett has complicated matters. I really don't need all the inputs on the 40 right now, just kinda want them...

    EZDrummer - $29.99 at Sweetwater

Me too... I rarely post (I use the Google search), but I can't thank this forum enough for all the info and tips on sales like this thread. :notworthy

    Your latest G.A.S. purchases

I've been hooked on rescuing cheap, used guitars and working on repairing them. This weekend I found a well-used Epiphone Les Paul Studio (Korea-built from '98, according to the serial#) at a local shop for $125... It had a crazy bow in the neck (banana-like), but after I took it home and...

    Your favourite lyrical pieces?

I've always liked "Brainstorm" by Morbid Angel. They're not the deepest lyrics out there, but I love to growl along with it. Particularly the "They* Speak My Name In Toooooooooongues!" part. It just fits the song perfectly. (*Even though that's an example of using the mysterious "They"...

    Most annoying lyrical clichés?

I do my own solo thing, and lyrics are tough! Sometimes you get a good line right away, or you have to wait a bit. I usually start with a songtitle and go from there. I try to get lyrics down quick and early, and usually after repeating them a few times better words come out or I scrap them...

    Which DAW to get?

Another vote for Reaper. I had been using Ableton Live 8, and I still do for some stuff, but Reaper loads so fast and is far easier to use...

    Your latest G.A.S. purchases

Just bought a couple of Seymour Duncan pickups today- an Invader and a Jazz. I'm going to install them myself, first attempt at doing this but I really want to start getting into doing my own repairs and mods. Jumping right in...

The best way to get yourself distributed online ?

ReverbNation is pretty good if you haven't used it yet. I find it doesn't mess with your files as much as myspace, and people can still download them for free if you want. If you sign up for the free account you can upload files up to 8MB, or you can pay $30 a year and get up to 25MB per file.

    Name some albums.

Yup, I was going to post this one too. Also Vader- Necropolis.

Any of you having a solo project ?

My solo 'band' link is below. I have a myspace page too, but I like reverbnation better. I do everything except drums, I'm using kitcore... I thought about waiting to post any tracks until I learned more about the recording process, and got my chops back since I was a way better guitar player...

    Killer Home Recording?

Nope. I bought it with my own money, and I'm light years away from anyone paying me for an endorsement. I have a newfound love of Recabinet (see below) that's also unsolicited. Believe what you want, it's all good, but I'm still very happy with KHR for the reasons I already laid out. I post...

    R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio

Rest in Peace Ronnie James Dio, what an amazing voice he had...

    Killer Home Recording?

I still buy books even though you can find just about everything on the 'net. Speaking for myself, I tend to learn better that way. Although this place is a goldmine of info (and opinions) itself...I like having that step by step approach in front of me...To each their own...

    Killer Home Recording?

As a relative newb, I felt I had to finally chime in. (Unlike some newbs I actually know how to use the search function here so I don't post, and I still don't see what the big deal is if someone wants to ask a question, but I digress...) I ordered KHR yesterday, and I'm absolutely blown...
