only like 35 minutes long?

bought the cd b/c of all the hype. was mildly entertained but overall not terribly impressed and it's kinda been shelved. then i saw them live. was mildly entertained but overall not terribly impressed.

i saw these guys wednesday night in providence with incantaiton, impaled and others. i gotta say, i was impressed. big time. they had the hair flying full force as they just ripped through their material. they were wonderful.

i like the album as well. i bought it the day it came out and never disliked it, but wasn't really in love with it. over the past 6 months or so (that's about right, isn't it?) i still get the urge to listen to it, and it has earned my respect as a solid album. if i have any complaint...

don't forget the last Pig Destroyer and Discordance Axis.

phew! just read this whole thread. nice. if i had to pick 5 BM albums off the top of my head right now: Immortal - At The Heart of Winter Satyricon - Nemisis Divina Mayhem - Grand Declaration of War Ulver - Nattens Madrigal Emperor - Anthems........ i like quite a bit more, but...

yeah, it's good, solid stuff. not quite as hard hitting as Litany, but what it lacks in sheer speed/force it makes up for with great riffs/style. it's not rewriting the rulebook, but nobody expected it to really. good solid release for sure.
