    Heaven, quite a climb...

If you want to go all political be my guest, but realize that Orphaned Land has absolutely nothing to do with Politics, as a band that is. The aim of OL (through their music) has always been to bring those PEOPLE together. Not the Politicians, but the PEOPLE. Now all the shit that is going on...

    The Oud Festival

Does anyone have videos or recordings from the Israeli Oud Festival 2006? I've been wanting to hear/see with no hope, till today I check an interview with Yossi about New Jerusalem, where I heard the accoustic version of the song from a clip of the show, and well, I thought this is it! I must...

folkloric original Olat Ha'tamid , Aldiar almukadisa!

well, I remember reading somewhere on a website that the part was written and played in the memory of an old composer, but I'm not sure, and I don't remember the name. but I think the scale is a variation of maqam al 7ijaz but I'm not sure exactly. As I already was planning, I'm gonna show...

    Estarabim

You can always check the original singer who sang Estarabim ;) Erkin Koray or Erkin Baba as they call him, he has this style in which mixes rock with turkish traditional. That and nowdays alot of bands from Turkey do that.

folkloric original Olat Ha'tamid , Aldiar almukadisa!

Hello Basil, Salam 3alaikom from Bahrain ;) kaif al7al? About the songs you mentioned, I can tell you they are all mostly very old Jewish (Hebrew) poems, written by Rabbis centuries ago, the band however composed the music and instrumentation that is accompanied with the song. That's why...

    Hebrew

I tried learning starting from the alphabets through Youtube videos, it was fun for awhile, I was able to relate to some since I already know Arabic, but then I realize I wouldn't benefit much from learning, so I kinda got bored, still love the language though!

This turned out to be harder than I expected man, so many favorites... 1.Find Yourself Discover God: My favorite song of all time, very catchy riffs and oriental tunes, and very spiritual lyrics, especially the part that says "And my soul shall follow the path, I paved alone with love - You...

    El Norra Alila

ENA is my favorite album too, it's very oriental (more than Mabool if you ask me) and the lyrical theme is very spiritual, that and the music itself alone is alot heavier. My favorites would be Find Yourself Discover God, Of Temptation Born, El Meod Na'ala and The Neverending Way. Lately...

Disciples of the sacred oath II

There was a time when an Arab singer sang Surat Al Fatiha from the Quran accompanied with Piano, this angered everyone and some clerics even ordered him dead. So yeah, these kind of things happen. Next time, the band perhaps can sing an old Islamic or Sufi poem instead of Quran(assuming they...

Disciples of the sacred oath II

This song is AMAZING! the guitars, the violins, the ney, the vocals, THE LYRICS!! I LOVE YOU ORPHANED LAND!!! I did a reply to those close-minded facebook people who are complaining about the use of Quranic verses in the music. I wanted to go a bit racist, but then I decided not to...
