Hey, JP. In an interview Mikael himself has said that it's quiet. Also, there's a local metal band here that kicks ass and I've talked to their lead singer, Jacob. Jacob's growl is pretty quiet but he says overexaggerating the words makes you look like you're loud when you're growling.

Hey, DestrwidoR. I recommend starting with Blackwater Park. If you really can't hang with the death vocals, then immediately skip to track 3, "Harvest". Listen to it and Track 4, "The Drapery Falls", about four or five times. Once you're hooked on them like crack, then start on Track 2...

Amen to that. It's too true. Get lessons. A tip, though: over-annunciate your words. For example, when you sing a word like "beer" you should be showing your teeth. You may feel a little stupid but it's helping those singing muscles under your tongue and around your vocal chords.
