TRIGGER 2 is fully automatable. As for iLok, I updated not long time ago (when VBC came out). Everything went fine and overall system performance became better, plugins load faster, new ILM is pleasure to use, so I'm happy, though I was really scared before update...

I tested it few minutes ago in Firefox with its default download manager. File downloads fine with up to 800 kB/sec speed.

To test Demo I re-downloaded this damn ZIP about 8 times. The only thing, which can help you is any download manager. Seems it's because too many people trying to download the demo.

I using high HPF values + high Input values to trigger toms. Works perfect. But needs some skill from user (as well as triggering of some deep long sustained kick drums). Manual helps very much in triggering setup. Tom samples are big (100 MB and more per one set). Maybe thats why they were not...
