My first big amp was a Carvin Vai Legacy original. It's cheaper than most modern heads for a half stack and can get a bunch of different sounds, plus the head has a reverb knob! haha I play Megadeth/Kalmah/Bodom style metal and I totally love it. Check them out!

I'm thinking of trying out a preamp/power amp setup for a change... I'm going to be buying a Fryette 2-90-2 power amp, and can't find a pre amp I'm happy with really, any suggestions? I'm not an effects guy, so pedals are for sure out, as are effects processors such as the Fractal Audio or...

I have been playing ten years, and roughly eight of those years I have been playing Gibson Explorers and am currently waiting for an ESP Random Star shaped custom shop guitar.. I just don't like V shaped guitars. To answer the other guy as to why I have this kind of guitar - It was a gift.
