Andy is absolutely right. If it's between Cubase and Protools then you definately want pro-tools. However, if you want something that can stand up to protools and is cubase style then you should really look into Steinberg's Nuendo.

The SM58 is known as the live vocal mic of choice and the SM57 is used as the studio swiss army knife mic. THey are both the same mic. The only difference is the built in windscreen on the SM58. No other differences.

Andy, Tomorrow is the end date on my band's current recording. We are flying out to LA to get it mastered later this week. Do you have any tips that we could use at the final stages in order to get it ready for mastering? Thanks for your help, Eyal Levi

I've got a dmpro... do you think there's anything of comparable quality on it, or maybe a way to import the older samples? Also, I read that you always mix with the L2 on the mix. What preset do you use, and does it make your mix sound strange when you take the L2 off? Damn, they don't...

I've got both over at my studio and both come in handy for different things. If you haven't gotten a great sound out of a pod you haven't fucked with it enough.

I think you can use the pod 2.0 and get great sounds going direct... however, you need to think about all the elements that you are emulating from the amp, to the cabs, to the level of drive, etc. It took me a few months to unlock the pod and I can tell you this, don't go with the pre-sets.
