I first heard Katatonia about 2 years ago or so on mp3.com as "Katatonia.com" and the first song I heard was "I Break" which still today is one of my favorites. After I had heard that song I had made quick work of finding every work Katatonia had ever put out and listened. : )

I also have the DD Long Forgotten Demo (1997). It's a great listen and I recommend it. It does have a very black metal touch to it : )

Why does Crematory suck, anyway? I never hear anyone mention them, but with all their releases and gloomy music, I cannot imagine how they'd be the worst ever. They aren't the best... But the worst??

Depressing? Try Forest of Shadows from Sweden. FoS covered Rainroom and I'd consider them one of the most depressing doom bands that I have ever heard. The song "Wish" used to be hosted on mp3.com before it went down. Im sure someone can hunt down that track if they really want to hear a piece...
