I say Steven Wilson. I think Jens' production sounds cleaner, but less atmospheric and unique sounding. For example, the guitars may not be as full or fat sounding on BWP or Deliverance, but I think everything fit together to make a really cool sound with those three album SW did with them...

I don't know about those guys in particular, but I know when I'm playing a song, especially my own bands songs, it's easy to memorize them because the song sort of plays in my head and the progression of the riffs comes naturally to me. I'm guessing that's how it must be for most bands

I don't really see that the volume of the growls makes a big difference. It still sounds like any opeth album to me, the growls sound like they're at a fine mix I don't see how you can nit-pick something like that so much and be so concerned with it.

same. I feel like one of the few people that didn't like GR as much as the other albums, and I think watershed's definitely above deliverance and GR for me. Just my opinion though.
