It does seem this album will be a bit less... commercial than their last one. Hell, I think some of the best moments of tgcd were in the more 'commercial' songs so I'm not really seeing the problem if they do have a few. We'll find out soon enough!

lolwut, I don't think they're similar I was just trying to bullshit something that tried to compare them how the OP was saying. The songs that are most similar between them are the ones with more electronic/ambient elements but that's my opinion I guess. I like both bands for what it's worth...

eh, I prefer the sound Katatonia has and I think they're more emotional and subtle. They both do what they set out to do, and do it well, but I don't really get drawn into PT's music as much. They have their really amazing moments but the hard rock thing they do lately doesn't really do it for...

I think Katatonia reach a much higher level of emotion and atmosphere than Porcupine Tree do, and therefore rate higher in my mind. PT songs, to me, seem like they exist more as musical experimentation and something to rock out to, rather than something that's meant to have a narrative or...

Anyone know what region codes these preorders are? Or if it's possible to order a 'limited' boxed version to Australia? I haven't been able to find the dvd listed on any Australian sites, and I don't want to miss out on a 2dvd/2cd copy.

It's not really a 'single', but they did release that one song for free download. I assume, if there was a traditional single planned, that it would be this song. They did the same with My Twin before TGCD release.

Any combination of the latest 3 albums. Viva Emptiness is a bit of a less approachable TGCD, but the highlights of that album are really good. So... tgcd and lfdgd?
