i love his voice, but i've never really listened to anything he's been involved in. i tried listening to Arcturus - la masquerade infernale once, but it was too far out for me. what are the best albums he's done lead vocals for?

you have very similar tastes to my own. these are some of my favorites: disillusion - back to times of splendor i urge you to listen to it at least 3-4 times before making your mind up about it. you need to penetrate the surface aesthetic (or whatever) before the true nature of the album...

check out dark tranquillity's skydancer album. it's not considered folk metal but i find it very folk/renaissance/medieval feeling.

Hey. I'm looking for more music that gives off a medieval maritime fantasy atmosphere without being cheesy such as Atlantean Kodex or While Heaven Wept. Or, anything else with a really unique medieval or olden times atmosphere that isn't power metal or jolly folk but that is really listenable...

I'm not really too fond of power metal, except the stuff that sits right on the edge, like Slough Feg, but maybe I just haven't heard the right stuff.
