I know this thread is about bass distortion PLUGINS but I have to say that the best bass distortion pedal I've ever heard was the Darkglass Electronics Microtubes B3K. Crank the drive, switch the "attack" on and use the blend to get a nice and crunchy but still defined bass sound. Pluginwise...

I think the mix would benefit from having a bit more low end. The bass is hardly audible. Otherwise, it sounds great!

Congrats on the internship! My band recorded a mini-EP there (at B-studio) in August with Aki Sihvonen! It's an awesome studio with quite a history in recording, at least here in Finland. I must say it's an incredible feeling to drink coffee in the very same room where Nightwish, HIM, Badding...

The kick is very boomy in the sub-lows. Mix needs a lot more low mids IMHO, sounds kinda weak down there. The definition of the bass is lost. Guitars sound fine to my ears. I don't like the panning of that crash around 0:10, it's too centered. Otherwise, it's great!

3 hours in Reaper with headphones only. I used the original snare, overheads and Trillian bass tracks, replaced the kick with Slate (Kick 10) and reamped the guitar DI with Waves GTR (Monster amp). EDIT: Just realized that the toms are not very audible because I high passed the overheads...
