Nice man. What did you use for the guitars? Vst or real amp?

Guys hello, does my soundcard's preamp has sth to do with my guitar tone? I use same vst and same settings of the following videos and my guitar sound sucks! It is far worse than that of the videos. The only thing I can think of is my audio card since my pickups are emg 81 85.
