I just cheked out the first part of the show. Very cool stuff in that song, it reminded me a lot of marty friedman + jason becker. :rock:

Wow, voted for #1. There´s something in the picking style that reminded me of Steve. Excellent playing :rock: As far as the other entries, they were all pretty good. IMHO the level in all four entries is higher than in previous contests.

Why dont you put two solos? One after the first chorus (on the intro riff) and another one at the end of the song (maybe taking the last part of the chorus and the intro riff).

Voted for #1 in this one. I liked that it followed the track, specially the first part sounds really cool but it lacks some sort of a climax, what I mean is that the way the solo developed through the track called for some shredding at the end to finish things up. The xylophone (?) in the back...

Are those mp3 files? Depending on the setup you use when enconding your mp3 it will remove a lot of high frequencies that originally were in a wav file, for example. mp3 is a lossy encoding algorithm as far as I know. If those are wavs I have no idea.

I think you guys did a pretty good job. There were a couple of off notes in the singing. The guitar playing was very good, he nailed that solo pretty good...those were the good times for Dream Theater :kickass:
