    noob gain-staging question

Hey guys, thanks for the info. I do distinguish between peaks and rms at -18 and i use a vu meter plugin. I ask myself why is the default level of superior drummer so hot it's clipping the master Oo. I guess the best solution will be to trim all the channels (when using a multioutput) equally...

    noob gain-staging question

Ressurecting the thread a bit. Superior drummer sound kinda weird when gainstaged to about -18db. The sound starts to suck, even with monitors adjusted to sound accordingly loud. I guess the problem is, that i adjusted all tracks to -18, while tracks like hihat and OH's should be even below...

    Snare blast beats

Ok thank you! I'm actually using reaper on the macbook pro for live performance and use cubase on the main audio pc. but it might rather be helpful.

    Buy Savage 120 or Blackmore

Nope, you don't need a booster for Savage.

    Mesa 2x12 vs. ENGL 2x12

Congrats, right choice! With Savage you'll get killer tone!

    Buy Savage 120 or Blackmore

I chose the savage over the blackmore some years ago and never looked back. Blackmore sounds cool, but it's a one trick pony. Savage is very versatile with some great features.

    G-Major 2 alternative

Hmm, sound interesting, it's not 19" though, but i still could attach it on the floor of my amp rig. Wonder how much it might cost and how it will sound =) Any other ideas?

    Mesa 2x12 vs. ENGL 2x12

if using an engl amp, i'd go with engl cab, same thign with mesa. But you want to know how YOUR amp would sound with it, right? There's no way around testing both :) But on the other hand, both are awesome cabs.

One amp in your studio...which one?

Sold all other amps since i bought the Savage 120. But for versatility go with the Kemper

Wireless in ear monitoring (for gigs)

If you don't want to spend much i can advise you this one: http://www.musicstore.de/en_EN/GBP/Fame-IEM-1000-In-Ear-System-863.100-Mhz/art-PAH0009329-000 They don't transmit any low-end, but for click tracks it's very good. Our singer is using one and our drumemr used one recently during...

    Thinking of changing from EMG's

Well there are really many pickups that sound good out there. Personally i still do not have found my favourite, but if you'r into hi-gain check those: Seymour Duncan Dimebucker: Agressive high-end, and nice balls, a great hi-gain monster. I've got those on 2 of my Dean Razorbacks and like...

    Snare blast beats

Ok, thank you! I'll give it a shot! Splitting each fucking transient in a blast beat in a 7 minute long song? :D And then again, using a sampler will actually blow away the idea of having some natural snare sound, i'd might just make a superrior-drummer track for snare then... if the...
