Right now because of budget issues I don't have the recourses to record live drums. I didn't think of an electronic set though. This would probably be ideal for my situation.

How do most producers/engineers approach this. If you are using only programmed drums, do you usually let the drummer program them or program them yourself from listening to a recording or is there some other method? I googled this but couldn't find a way to word it to get any results.
