Axe FX II XL vs. 2203 KK and SM57 vs. 906

    1 > 2 >> 4 > 3 i really dont like 3 and 4 and these dont share any 2203 characterstics i know from your old recordings. So i guess its something like this: 1 - Marshall + SM57 2 - Marshall + e906 3 - Axe + e906 4 - Axe +SM57 Not sure about mic. The e906 is darker than the 57 but with engaged...

Countryman Type 85 DI vs LL redeye 3D Phantom

I have the old redeye and when using the thru out there is nothing done to the signal. The signal is directly routed to the output phonejack. I would guess its the same with the 3D but dont know what the active input does regarding the thru out.. When we talk about input impedance..does someone...

    Speakers Break In test

What's actually the supposed tonal change after breaking in? I can only imagine that the speaker cone may loses some stiffness and the sound may smoothen a bit?

The best impulses since s-preshigh... And they're free !

Thanks for your respond :) That explains the huge low end with my setup, because it's like two poweramps daisy chained.^^ There are different methods to capture only the pure cab but it depends on what your after. When you want to use an IR with software simulations then it more or less doesn't...

The best impulses since s-preshigh... And they're free !

Hey Redline, do these IRs have an imprinted poweramp response curve due to recording them through a guitar head poweramp section like some guys do over here? Or did you use a flat response curve poweramp to drive the speaker? greets

2 different guitar tones - your fave one?

engl sounds weird, narrow and doesn't fit to the drums. and sounds not more brutal in my ears. go with the diezel or try something different cab/EQ wise with the engl because i woudn't say that it's amp but cab/IR/EQ or whatever related.

    Dark guitar DIs- need advice

Just to get it right. You as a pro, what do yo actually mean with "as close as possible"? The nearest position where the strings will still never touch the pickup while hard hitting and/or fretting on 24th fret?

    Dark guitar DIs- need advice

For a long time i had really thick strings (54 on drop C) to keep them more in tune while hitting them hard. i had a pick with a slightly rounded tip and my pickups were as close as possible to the strings. Compared to others i always had a muddy tone. Then i changed the strings for lighter ones...

Guitar Pro Alternative with Rewire Support

Not sure if it helps because you can't edit the midi notes within your daw and have the change directly in gp with this. But you could use a virtual midi cable to send the midi data from gp to your daw for playback and apply vsti's to it or something. There will be no sync between your daw and...

    Ample Sound "BASS" coming soon!

Don't know if it's the song, but it sounds a bit robotic to me. I would like to hear some fast 16th notes.

Peavey 6505 vs EVH 5150 vs Marshall 2203KK

wtf..you sold the mini? :o how much? (so that i can get angry that i didn't buy it :D) in the "noisy" clip before the 2203kk definitely sounded awesome and suits your own music better. but i just would keep the mini additionally..

Peavey 6505 vs EVH 5150 vs Marshall 2203KK

Before watching i expected it to be 5153 > 2203 > 6505. After watching it was 6505 > 2203 > 5153 :D You didn't try to get similar tones, right? Or are the snippets not from the same "session" and mic placement is not the same? 5153 is here way too bass pronounced.

Marshall 2203KK - Oldschool Death Metal Grind

I couldn't get good results with low levels and a 412. Only mid honkey tones :/ If loudness is not a problem then the 412 is definitely better then the iso in the video :) i tried match eqing them but i can still hear that the low end is compressing and isn't as nice as with the 412. I hope my...
