    Your thoughts about AtWB

I concur. I don't think there's any filler here or on any of their albums. I also appreciate how the lyrics have a depth that is not always present in a lot of Christian music lyrics. Definitely a candidate for album of the year (right next to Dream Theater's new one for me).

the "what are you currently listening to" thread

I picked up Man Vs. Machine as a blind purchase awhile ago. I can't remember why. Probably read some comparison to Queensryche/Fates Warning or something on the Laser's Edge website. Sadly, I have never been able to track down any of their other albums as they seem to be long out of print. :(...

Love this album. He has a definite vintage Geoff Tate vibe to his voice at times, which I like, too. It's been a while since I listened to this album. Listening now. :)

Haha...I just saw that after I posted. Good to see others in their 30s on this forum. :)

+1 This has been my favorite song since it came out in 1995. Other songs/bands/abums can vary in my favorites list, but I think this will always be #1. MoS comes close, though.

    Sorry guys

I was 27 in 2005. To me 27 is young because I still don't feel old. :) You got me beat. I think SeaStorm said he was 38 in another thread, though.

    Iced Earth - Dystopia

I'm getting Dystopia in the mail tomorrow. Looking forward to it! I haven't picked up The Unforgiving yet, so I can't comment on that one. Iconoclast is growing, but The Divine Wings of Tragedy will likely forever be my favorite Symphony X (followed closely by V).

    Theocracy to Europe in October

Not to hijack this thread, but I was also at the Rosemont show in the back of the balcony! I wore ear plugs, though. Dream Theater's sound was at least better than Trivum, I thought. Trivium's bass and drums were overwhelmingly loud, burying almost everything else in the mix. That made their...

As The World Bleeds, the First Two Tracks...and I'm worried.

+1 on SeaStorm's comments on the vocals for that Threshold song! Slipstream is probably my favorite song of theirs (though I am not familiar with their entire catalogue). The use of the growls is what sets that song apart for me. Ten years ago I wouldn't listen to anything with growls on it...

THEOCRACY - AS THE WORLD BLEEDS

If anyone wants more teasers from the album, Amazon has their traditional 30 second clips from each song. I hope the band is okay with me posting the link. I'm looking forward to this even more...
