What I do is I run a DI box in my effects loop from which I use the -20db pad and i cut the volume from which I can then run the post gain up higher on the amp. I don't know if this actually helps, Im sure it gets the tubes hotter, but I don't get the speaker break up that comes with higher...

Honestly I would just wait and post a full mix. Everything changes once all instruments are added. Although, the velocities need to be worked some. It does sound kinda fake.

Yeah way too much bass. I can't even give you an accurate opinion on the guitars because the bass is so loud. It's clouding the guitars up. Bring that bass down and repost it. Until then I've got nothing.
