Damage Done just seems like a retread of their past works. While the album itself isn't bad, nothing in it seems to particularily stand out. Plus I still think DT would work much better with the inclusion of clean vocals since Stanne does them much better than his peers.

I thought I would absolutely love this album, considering I love all of Opeth's past mellow pieces. But Damnation doesn't work and is basically relegated to pleasant background music. Damnation also tends to borrow off it's influences too much I think. Considering this was an experiment...

Blackwater Park by far. Andy Sneap's job on Damnation doesn't really fit Opeth's sound I think.

I just find it boring, every Opeth release includes a killer opening track (well - maybe except Prologue :) ), but Wreath is so underwhelming.

Despite the fan I'm not the biggest fan of Opeth's latest releases, I will say that Akerfeldt's vocals have grown in leaps and bounds. So obviously the later stuff.

I don't know about Odyssey, but I know ACoS by Dream Theater was not originally intended to be a 20 minute song, it grew to be that long since the themes in it needed 20 minutes to be explored. Personally, I just see something like Black Rose Immortal happening, which is something like 20...

Good CD, the only thing is the lack of dynamics tends to make the CD blur together.
