    Thanks a lot for the feedback guys. I will try that with the bass as we only did one bass track straight up the middle and never was completely happy with it, I just wasn't sure where exactly to start.

    Looking for any feedback/tips. Guitars were recorded with an SM57. Peavey 6505 and Laney Ironheart 120 through a Mesa Rectifier 2x12. Bass was Ampeg SVT-7PRO.

    Mesa 2x12 w/ V30's or something similar. Also the laney ironheart is a beast of an amp.

    With the exception of a few bands on that list Rockstar mayhem fest is bringing less and less mayhem every year.

    On the new dream theater record john petrucci used completely different amps on rhythm parts in the same song. It will make a difference but not sure how much it will matter that much in the end. (or if anyone will even notice)

    I use 10-52 and drop B and sometimes Bb and string tension was always fine
