Yeah, I usually cut around 80Hz to 100Hz. I've never tried the Axe Fx stuff but I really like some of the tones I hear out of it.

I actually figured you boosted the low end in some way and not cut it. haha What did you use for the source tone? I quite like it.

What "something" did you do exactly? Sounds like it would be rad with a little tweaking.

I used an ESP w/EMG-85 into my '04 Mesa Triple Rectifier (new tubes) with a Maxon OD808 into a Line6 4x12 with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. I only used Channel 3 (modern), but it cleans up very nicely! I did 19 profiles with different mic levels and such.. Shure SM57 Audix i5 Audix...

This test was really good. You could hear the slight variations in the individual playing (picking attack and clarity in fretting). The test for the tone in a nutshell seemed to be well in tact throughout all players. Not as big of a difference in tone as you would expect.

I agree that using the same DI gives a perfect comparison from other profiles/amps. It is a lot easier to compare something from the same source.
