this is not a genre i work on very often, although i was actually in this band before they came back to me to mix this song they recorded. mixed on my toft atb 32, outboard compressors and reverbs, about 90 percent of the mix was done analog. some touch ups and surgical eq done in the box...

sounds like it has too much in the mid range. high shelf 12k to brighten them up and make them stick out, small bump at 120 to get the man in the voice and maybe a small cut in the mid rage somewhere to take out the mud is my normal vocal eq, dont want to take too much away from his voice or it...

needs eq for sure. the rhythm track sounds really washed out to me. maybe open up the panning for the rhythm track to 100% to open up the track and create a bit more space for the leads?

sweet thanks for all the help guys! i already have all of the songs tempo mapped, but i think ill just go through the songs and average out each sections of the song, and maybe ill leave small changes in tempos like for fills going into different parts or something like that.
