    Post your hauls here

I'm curious about how most people obtain their music. Do you: a) Buy CD's or LP's in store or online b) Download on itunes or in some other way by paying $$ c) Download in another way d) some other method I have a big collection of cd's, but have been considering starting to buy on...

Hmm interesting idea for a thread! I think I'll have to do some searching through my collection to see what I should post.

Most inspiring piece of music ever

Agreed! I especially enjoy the third movement. Hopefully I will be able to play this work half-assed some day haha.

Most inspiring piece of music ever

Well, of course, to each his own. I'd sooner take most classical music than a guy or girl with a guitar and voice. The details worked out so wonderfully in this music are a means of expressing a variety of deep emotions, wit, and thought. I listen to a variety of music, but classical music is...

Most inspiring piece of music ever

None of it can touch what this song reaches? Well, I, for one, do like primordial. But, for me, Primordial does not reach the depths of such emotions which many classical composers touch.

Awesome selections here. Good to see some lovin' for Franck and his violin sonata.

    Controversial opinions on metal

Tvangeste are a pretty sweet band. One of the best "symphonic" metal bands I've heard.

What are you listening to now ?

JS Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D Minor - Vivace. With Hilary Hahn obviously performing it at the upper end of the tempo range!

RATE WHAT THE PERSON ABOVE IS LISTENING TO THREAD

4/10. It's good, but absolutely not extraordinary. It's reliance on riff convention is very heavy. Although, it is written with a consistency of style and well performed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdx1oLZurkc&feature=rec-LGOUT-exp_stronger_r2-2r-6-HM

    Shadows Fall: metalcore or thrash?

I'd say they're more on the metalcore side of things.

    Controversial non-metal opinions

Lady Gaga is not as bad an artist as many people view her. The Beatles are not as great of artists as many people view them. Taylor Swift is not that great an artist. Modern country music, in general, is terribly banal. Much of the electronic dance music made today is also terribly banal.
