Bass guitar is a big part of the in flames sound (well all good guitar tones actually). The guitars sound pretty good, but you will for sure need some D.I. Bass (for low end clarity)and grindy bass (to help glue with the guitars) in there to seperate it all into their appropriate spots.

+1 I just leave a small 6" jumper in the effects loop at all times since I dont use the footswitch. If the footswitch is unplugged the fx loop is off.

That doesn't mean anything at all. take a wire and touch 1 end to your bridge and 1 end to the back of a pot. Does that make the sound go away? I am almost certain that this a grounding problem and not your power or anything after your guitar.
