Blackened Death for you to C&C

Ahoy there. Im looking for criticism/suggestions for this mix. Its one of the tracks from an E.P. my band is working on at the moment. This is the 4th draft mix so far of this song. The main problem Im finding is that I can get stuff to sound good individually, but when its all in the mix...

    Malacite: Melo-death from the Midlands.

Ahoy. We are Malacite. A four piece metal outfit hailing from the Grim & Frostbitten wastelands of Stafford, England. Our main influences are: Death, Arch Enemy, Gojira, Opeth, Decapitated & Lamb of God, and our sound falls somewhere inbetween thrash & melo-death If that sounds like...

    Opeth/Cynic/The Ocean - Vicar St, Dublin, Ireland - 18 November 2008

Cynic pretty much upstaged Opeth when I saw them on a different date of this tour too, I was expecting them to be so amazing. Its one of the only times Ive gone & bought an album based solely on a live performance.

Ahoy hoy. Not long ago my ancient & shitty Stagg pedal, which has been on its last legs for a while finally fell apart. But my student loan has just come in & Im looking to replace it. Id like something half decent, that is reliable, & has decent playability & speed, but on the other hand...

    Jack's Cubase Idiocy.

thanks for the advice guys, Ill see if I can tidy up my processes. @ moonlight seeker, I dont want them all sounding the same. Its a band with two guitarists, so each has a doubled rhythm track, a lead track & overdubs. So I need 4 different sounds. But Ill try grouping the rhythm tracks.

    Questions about Guitar Rig 3

Ive been using guitar rig 3 for my band's demo stuff aswell, the most useful thing Ive found when using it is not to use the 'matched cabinet' thing when you select your head, but use the 'cabinets & mics' option instead, it gives you a lot more ability to shape the tone. I also find myself...

thats what I have been doing for actually recording the guitars, but when it comes to mixing I need to do the exporting because it cant do playback on more than a few.

    Jack's Cubase Idiocy.

Hey guys. Ive been using an ancient copy of Cubase LE to record DI guitars. The problem is, Cubase LE can only handle about 4 guitar rig 3 plug ins in any one project, so Ive been recording each guitar, setting up the plug in, exporting the resulting file as a wav, & re-importing it, minus...

I just want to chip in on Puzzleface's recommendation of the Peavey Valve-king. They sound decent, & they work well for metal as well as other styles. Only thing is, I have a valveking combo & its VERY fragile. Ive had to have it replaced 2 times under warranty & had the valves replaced a couple...

question about music editing, regarding base

If you still have the multi-tracks for the song you recorded it shouldnt be too hard, most DAW programs have some kind of EQ plug-in you can apply to reduce bass. But if you dont have the multitracks, your best bet is EQ-ing the entire track, which as WeAreInFlames says isnt usually too good a move.
