I have seen people use and pretty effectively create a bass tone with their guitar by pitch shifting and using good bass impulses. Anyone have a good tutorial? I know I should buy a bass, but I need a cheaper solution.

the 6505 with the krank is my favourite, nice and grit. the 6505 and the messa sound the most professional and solid though.

Im not sure if your asking in terms of the recording or if you are talking about what you have wrote. so, ill do both! the recording is a little digital sounding at times. the guitars also sound a little muddy due to the low tunning. That much you can probably fix just by having your guitars...

Thanks for the interest! I notice when I load dfh into reaper it loads a lot of channels, are those all the individual pieces on the kit? If that is the case, I think I could make a good mix. What can I do to make the snare pop more ?

i would definitly start by looking into using guitar impulses. This has the potential to really thump, but I feel like the pod wont take you the extra mile unless you give it a good cab impulse. I really enjoyed this, its got a fair amount of clarity! I would suggest maybe using a bbe maximizer on your lead guitar to make it sound like its really pushing those 6505 tubes, it doesn't sound like its pushing or screaming quite as hard as it should be for a 6505 on a high volume setting...
