Used to play this with a drummer buddy of mine, took a shitload of memorization for his parts. The tabs existing for it also were quite off so it required retranscribing to get it right.

I personally wouldn't be too surprised about that, even though muhammad is brutally tight with his playing.

If I recall correctly it was engl e860 rackhead. I owned one of those few years back and I found it to be surprisingly low gained.

As it happens, a few years back I sold him the actual preamp he probably was using there aswell. HK Tubemaster plus rack pre with one tube IRC. The rhythm tones out of that thing weren't that good, but it works well with the kind of lead sound Kupiainen goes with.

I find it much easier to do all drums by hand with a mouse. Doesn't matter what genre. It feels stupid first playing the drums in on a controller, and then having to fix them afterwards anyway.
