Yeah, I know exactly what you mean by the emotional connection. I've known people who like animals and they have pets but that's really all there is to that relationship. Every animal I've ever had is a part of my family and they are treated as such. When I was a teenager, my family and I went...

Sorry about your dog, man. I lost mine last year. It's a truly awful fucking experience. In my case, I knew it was coming. He had laryngeal paralysis, which basically means that there was a loss of function of his larynx. He lived with it with a few years. I knew what it would eventually mean...

Pretty big few days for wrestling I'd say. I thought Mania overall was a success. I wasn't convinced after Night 1. After the first night, I was like "man, I don't know. That didn't feel like WrestleMania at all." By the end of the second night, that feeling disappeared. The spectacle was there...

The Halo Effect - New Album 2023/2024

Speaking of Wintersun, I have to admit Time II sounds pretty fucking amazing from the samples. I wasn't even sure it existed. Anyway... I don't know that Jesper will ever be a live fixture of a band again. That's pure speculation, but it seems like any time he's on the road he gets very...

The Halo Effect - New Album 2023/2024

They have a weird way of doing things. They have an album that's been done for almost a year, still no idea when it's coming out and they're working on more music?

Yeah, definitely weird that Daniel is still out. Initially he was sitting out the Australia/New Zealand tour in November because of "personal reasons", but I don't believe this last run was part of that. On Instagram the band said that he's still taking personal time but will be back soon...

The Halo Effect - New Album 2023/2024

It was about what I was expecting honestly. Very 80's goth inspired stuff. I like it.

Obviously I don't understand it lyrically, but overall this sounds really good. Very headbangable stuff.

The Halo Effect - New Album 2023/2024

I don't really expect it to sound anything like the bands the members are in to be honest. The bassist from Dimmu for instance is essentially a hired gun who has nothing to do with the songwriting, he just plays what they tell him to play. Vesa Ranta was a huge part of Sentenced for sure, but...

Yeah, I think Warmen is an actual band now that Bodom is done. When Janne first started it, I think it was mostly an instrumental project, and then he started using guest vocalists. It's actually quite an old project by this point. The first album was in 2000 and basically sounded like...

I imagine that Stanne will be using clean vocals on this, but we'll see. As a big fan of Sentenced, Amorphis, Katatonia, Type O Negative and others in that vein, I'm looking forward to this. I think it has the potential to be really good.

So Mikael has a new band, Cemetery Skyline which seems to have a dark, gothic sort of sound. First single will be out early April. I’m quite looking forward to checking this out.

The only songs I really remember from Mnemic are this one, Ghost and Deathbox. I heard Ghost on a compilation album in 2003 maybe? I was never a huge fan though. They remind me of if White Zombie and Fear Factory formed a tag team and played Meshuggah covers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing...

Dark Tranquillity - New Album "Endtime Signals" out 2024-08-16

There are a few songs on Haven that I do enjoy. I think The Wonders At Your Feet is a good opener and obviously the band like it as it's been a staple in their setlists since Haven came out. Fabric is also good.
