PPSCAN 2009 - next band announced - FREAK KITCHEN

Very good for PPS! Highly unlikely I'll make it this year, but good to see these news anyway. :)

PP Scan 2009 - which bands do you want to see?

They (Atrox) have a male singer these days. ;) And Sinergy seems history. :p It's kinda funny, I didn't really like Atrox's Contentum album too much, but the last proper song What Crawls Underneath is amazing! The vocals are definitely an acquired taste, but I think her voice is ok...on this...

Dark Suns is pretty good! I've only heard Existence, but it's got a nice atmosphere, solid record.

^Yes, at the wrong tree barking you are. I'll agree that the genre discussion is a bit tedious and that many music fans could do with being more openminded though. The thread's gone a bit off-topic...but I suppose that's better than complete lack of discussion?

The Reticent, for the dark & gloomy prog fan

Yay let's spam every board that isn't strictly band-related! Steve von Till, Nick Cave and Opeth influence sounds orgastic though.

PP Scan 2009 - which bands do you want to see?

Fates Warning! Or failing that (they're headlining PP USA after all (they'd still be great for PPS though)), Redemption, which FW's Ray Alder sings in, would be great too and maybe more in line with the whole progpower thing. Other than that...if you decide to go further into the heavy prog...

    PP Scan 2008 - reviews

Fair enough, you may be right. Those were the only true power metal bands. Maybe I should have said it some other way. However I do think the line-up did lean towards power-ish melodic (prog) metal...it's probably just me, seeing as I don't care for stuff like Vanden Plas or Cloudscape. When you...

    PP Scan 2008 - reviews

Diversity is a good thing, however with all the cancellations and the replacements, I think this year ended up being rather more power than prog. I agree with the metal-revolution.com reviewer on most of the bands too, at least in the general quality if not the details. (Lanfear however I more...

Any contact (email/Messenger) for Äfa? I don't use MySpace. Saw the Deadsoul Tribe pictures on their MySpace though and they looked good.

As I said, I'm sorry if my claim was unsubstantiated, good to hear he's a nice guy after all. That was a nice thing about PPS. I remember seeing members of at least Nostradameus, Wuthering Heights, Deadsoul Tribe and Pain of Salvation around the venue, Devon Graves was watching the bands before...

Well, I walked off from Vanden Plas after a minute because the people I was with were tired and the vocal sound was the worst all day so I don't know about the performance other than that they seemed typically average, but I did hear that he was a major drama queen backstage.

Ok, pretty much done that the last time I was there so I guess I'll try and find something else. But see you at the venue I hope. :) (The Little Mermaid isn't really very exciting. Unless some vandals have done something to it again. :p) Btw, there's a brewery/pub/restaurant called Brewpub...

That sounds like fun, I'll probably go early (noon-ish, maybe) Friday or Saturday if anyone wants to meet up/come along. Aran, what are you planning to see on that walk? Maybe I'll see you at the venue on Friday, I wouldn't mind joining if I'm in a condition to walk further than to the fridge...
