    The Winter Beer Report

10 years late, but I tried Deschutes Jubelale for the first time tonight. Nice malt backbone, not too hoppy- Crystal 150 gives it a nice raisin/long boil quality. May try a homebrewed version since there's a good clone recipe from Denny Conn. Also, I like how this is months between responses...

Why did we not come up with that like 10 years ago? Maybe someone did & it was immediately deleted by a Driver.

Boulevard Nutcracker Ale is on sale. I need to try Widmer's Brrrr now that they actually distribute here. Celebration Ale, yum. Other than those, maybe something Belgian-y like Delerium Noel. It's been about 5 years since I tried that. Also, I have 3 kids and lead music at church now...

Mia and I are going to see the uconn CORPSE FLOWER tomorrow (tuesday)

I thought I might have it burned on a disc of stuff from my work that year, but no luck. Just engagement/wedding photos, which obviously don't have the same flowers. BTW, Google Image search for "toby driver corpse flower" is entertaining. I see Disney's Country Bears, Serena Williams, Bela...

    The Novembers Doom Podcast

Re: Episode 12 Holy crap, i remember the guy in Metal & Hardcore Fest 2001 or 2002 that jumped up on stage. Jodi took pics of him, I still have them. I think she got 3-4 pics so it's like a stop-animation movie starting w/ him climbing onstage, yelling, then gone. Absolut-ly amazing.

    Novembers Doom - Complete discography?

That was on WNUR's Airplay show, where they have live bands play in studio on air every Saturday. I did the metal show on WNUR Saturday nights, so we hooked that up and then hung out and did Steel Mill later that night. Fun stuff. I still think that recording of She came out awesome.

Is The Knowing the most essential ND album?

Good debate, love it. I was not really looking for credit, just thought people might be interested in seeing the writing style differences in specific songs. As for the songwriting thing, I do still disagree, and that's fine. When you do a cover song, for instance, you are basically...

Is The Knowing the most essential ND album?

The percentages I spoke of were not meant to belittle the contributions of other band members. They're in reference to songwriting. I always view the written song and the final full-band, recorded, arranged, produced, mixed, etc. version of a song as two seperate entities. For example, For...

Is The Knowing the most essential ND album?

Feel free to correct me if you think i'm wrong on any of this guys. I think things were pretty even contribution-wise on The Fade. The Knowing was, as Paul/Lar mentioned, basically when Larry joined & he started contributing some writing. He did really take off with his writing after The...
