New album Foregone out February 2023

I saw them last year. The risk of not having a special moment with them is too great. I don't want to ruin my streak.

Bottled gets a disproportionate amount of hate, a crying shame if there ever was one. Either Battles or I, the Mask would be my least favorite album from these guys, but I honestly would need to hear a totally re-mixed version of the former. As it is, it just feels like a demo.

I meant it more in the sense that everyone's kind of worn out and getting ready to leave, but the vibe is still good and happy goodbyes are being exchanged.

I saw DE4Life offer his thoughts on the STYE songs, figured I'd jump in on the action: F(r)iend - The verses aren't really my thing and the chorus feels half-baked, but that main riff is fun. I actually love the bridge. The Quiet Place - Fun song, seeing it on Headbanger's Ball back in the day...

If Anything, Suspicious (Anders Fridén's Lo-Fi side project)

There was All Ends, but I'm pretty sure Bjorn is almost single-handedly fueling In Flames at the moment (as much as we speculate about the scope of Anders/Benson's influence). I don't imagine he has time for side projects.

If Anything, Suspicious (Anders Fridén's Lo-Fi side project)

He has a new album out in collaboration with Aleksi Myllykoski, called "Aleatoric Psychoacoustic Frequencies." Still on my first listen, but highly impressed so far. Stylistically closer to Anders Bjorler's "Antikythera" but still in the ambient/electronic realm. A little bit of Ulver in there, too.

@Xpyro125 - Never heard of Hundredth, but I actually quite liked "Neurotic." I'm a fan of that dreamy sound for sure. Reminds me a bit of mid-90's punk/emo.

Ideal In Flames Lineup for Live show

For sound, same lineup as now, but swap out Anders for Anders 1999 just for that extra energy (current Anders is still good imo). For vibes, classic lineup circa 1999/2000.

A Tale of Meat and Metal by Peter Iwers

There was another metal-themed place in Gothenburg called "The Abyss" that's both a restaurant and a small club where local bands play that I'd planned on checking out, but my trip to Liseberg went a bit longer than I'd planned, so I'm saving it for next time. Apparently Stanne DJs there on...

A Tale of Meat and Metal by Peter Iwers

I was in Gothenburg a little over a month ago and went to Restaurant 2112 a couple of times, once on a Friday because the seafood place I'd wanted to check out was full, and again because there was an event prior to the DT show that Saturday. Not long after I left on Friday I was making my way...

    December Flower Solo

He's very good. It's a slower number, but "Everlasting Neverness" from that same EP is one of my favorite songs from the genre, and the solo there is fantastic as well.

I suppose the thing with mixing your own music (I assume this is the case for this album?) is that if you listen to it enough times, you get so used to the mix that it sounds normal to you. I really like the chorus in this song. I also like how it just rides the energy for nearly seven minutes...

The Halo Effect - New Album 2023/2024

Still need to check this out, but Forever Astray kicks serious tushy.

Cyhra - The Vertigo Trigger - August 2023

RESPECT. Jake laid the smack down on him. He was like, "Are you ready to rumble?"

New album Foregone out February 2023

Definitely get that. Usually I tend to listen to IF more around the time when they release new albums. I was more into ambient/electronic/avant-garde music for most of the year. I was on a massive 2000's-era Ulver kick this summer while studying sound design for my own project and went down some...
