I think the bombastic production suited the material on Iconoclast, probably an unpopular opinion, but there you go. I don't think it suits the more dynamic material on Underworld.

The material is great but the production still irks me when i listen to it.

My current ranking: 1. V 2. Divine wings 3. Twilight 4. Odyssey = Iconoclast 5. Damnation = Underworld 6. PL 7. SX I honestly prefer Iconoclast to this new one, It's one dimensional, but it doesn't feel forced like Underworld, it's just a balls out metal album.

I have mixed feeling about this album, the only track that flat out blew me away was Legend, all the other stuff is gonna need some time to sink in, which is to be expected with new SX. I do think this album is going to be a big grower on me. I do feel like alot of the stuff in the middle of...

I may be wrong but alot of the time, he seems to be backing up the Rhythm guitar (sort of like Jon Lord would so with his hammond organ), its just that the guitar is so forward in the mix that its sometimes barely inaudible, you can hear it quite alot on When all is Lost on the new record though.

It was full of absolute bollocks, so the purge was probably justified. But anyway, yeah, looking forward to the new album and all that jazz

Same, Dio is top of the pile for me, The albums with Tony Martin are great aswell, as are Born Again with Gillan and Seventh Star with Hughs....In fact i love all the post Ozzy stuff.

I would put these two as the weakest too in my opinion, Overall, i think its a great album, on par with TO but not quite as good as V or DWOT.

Can't say hes a favourite of mine, Budgie is a great band though. Good call on John Sykes, that guys a great talent, guitar and vocals.
