Yeah the guitars are like sitting right on top of everything, and they sound very.. cheap you could say. try reducing 600-800 by a couple db. and try to blend them more with the bass. remember Bass makes it bigger!!!

Decided to do a quick Drum mix Of this song! Can you guess what it is? Any comments on how i can improve it is welcome!

generally to get of mud, you cut the low mids, 250-500 and 600-800 do some wide scoops there, and you'll find your guitars breathing a lot more!

I have done proper gain staging making sure everything is below -12 db for headroom so there shouldnt digital distortion. Im using the mac version of the lecab. But whenever I add a second mic to the cab I start getting some sort of "cracking" distortion kind of. like i cant raise the volume...

Oh i know what you mean, what you do is set the High Pass Filter to about like 1400 or something (to your taste ) then automate to go back to whatever you want like 70 hz or something to when you want it to become full.

Well we do have a 100% left and 100% right, two tracks. two different recordings. what i mena by double tracking is like, playing say Riff A once 100% left and Riff Ab 70% left Riff B once 100% right and Riff Bb 70% right b meaning they play the same thing twice> so 4 tracks in total! but...

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask, if not, you can move the thread. But im wondering. If the band refuses to double track, or arent tight enough to double track. Is there still a way to make it sound big? I've tried unlinked compressions, stereo wideners, and turning up the bass...

Well yeah, i saw on a forum that bulb was actually responding too, cant find the link though.. but he said he doesnt like to double track. and doesnt. in any case, yeah, the band refuses to double track as they dont like how it sounds, (round)(?) but yeah any other solutions?
