Hey everyone, this is my first honest attempt at creating a Sturgis-style mix.
Personally i think i can improve it with more time figuring out how things should be individually mixed. But i'm satisfied for now. What do you guys think? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/88715546/Kortteaswav.wav
For this song i remember Corey said he used Xpand!2 only wich is a synth that comes with Pro Tools, so if you aren't using pro tools i guess you have to look somewhere else, Omnisphere is a good synth with a lot of different sounds and presets.
Yeah i noticed that too before i read your reply haha, so i made a quick change. The master was clipping pretty hard and i think the guitars where a bit harsh as well. I think this mix sound more pleasent right now, it still needs work but i think it's an improvement...

Sounds awesome! May be off topic, but i love the Jaymac shells pack also and i wonder what snare is used in that metalcore demo? i'd love to buy it!
I'll be posting a mix this ASAP :D
My browser is really messin with me, my bad. I thought they all was the same, but yes they sound very similar! Anyway thanks for filling in and for your help! :)
Couldn't help to notice that it's the same (same models) cymbals used in both these packs except the Screaming Simple pack got less cymbals only, does anyone know if it is? Too bad the audio demo on the screaming pack doesn't include the hi-hat because on the shoulder city pack it sounds too...
