Need unbiased Ears for improving mix

Thank you very much! This was very helpful. I will try to get rid of the imbalance in the vocals with automation. Concerning bass and drum I think it could be a volume issue- we high and low-passed the shit out of the guitars. It might also be a lack of lowend in our monitoring system that...

Need unbiased Ears for improving mix

Hi! I would like to get some feedback concerning my band's latest mix. The song was mixed on "esi near 5 experience" monitors and different headphones. Guitars are quadtracked. Please feel free to give some critical comments. Below is the updated version with sologuitar...

Looking for someone that can create logos

I would be more than delighted to create your bandlogo. BUT.... with proper payment. I found similar requests on other Forums where you're searching for someone to do a "professional" job for literally nothing. This will not work out. At least take in account that the artist will spend...

recommend me a 5 string bass!

Hm.. I would happily recommend Warwick, Sandberg or Spector bass guitars (though they may be above your budget range).. especially for Death metal you can get a great tone out of these. I'm using a passive Warwick corvette for 4 years now - and I'm very pleased with it's character so far. It...

    Folk/Thrash metal roughly mixed

Thx for your reply! This was really helpful. I sometimes got the feeling that in both songs the drums seem to be buried too much. So far, it looks like we should spend more time on mixing the second song. ;)

    reamping bass guitar?

Well, being a REAL () bass player myself, I would spend 1000+ mainly for the reason to get a nice and assertive bass tone on stage and in the rehearsal room. For recording the bass guitar one has to decide on his own whether he would prefer to use his "hardware" (Amp/cabinet...

    Folk/Thrash metal roughly mixed

Thanks mate! Steeleye Span? I've never heard of them before. Looked them up and now I'm really digging them I must say. :p These multiple vocal lines they use are great. I think we should try it, too. Might give the whole song a bit more charm. Maybe we should watch out for a female vocalist...

    help me with this mix

All in all I'd say the mix is pretty decent and clear. Listening to it through my headphones (not the best ones) the only thing that comes to my mind is that the guitar tone sounds a bit mellow.

    Folk/Thrash metal roughly mixed

Hi, everyone! First of all: Many thanks for sharing your stuff and experience. :kickass: I would like to hear some constructive criticism about two rough mixes that me and a friend of mine have made some time ago with our band. The songs are also on our myspace page: Creatures of the Moon...
