    Acoustic Drums - need feedback

Hey thank ya! Yes these are just the microphones, no samples or drumagog resamples, just some compression and eq. I will try out what you said about the kick, Steve G. from Drumeo told me to try the same thing actually and to pull the kick mic back some more than 6" from the head, he also...

    Acoustic Drums - need feedback

I removed the drum rug last night to test out how it sounded in comparison. I feel like I could always do better on the playing part.

    Acoustic Drums - need feedback

Gladly! I didn't take of a picture of the current setup on this particular take, but it was very identical as what you see placement-wise, minus the second rack tom, with the ride and crash switched there for a more separated overhead feel when the crashes are played. I just thought about this...

Progressive Deathcore song like Rings Of Saturn

This is a cool jam for a deathcore song man! I'd love to practice mixing this song for experience and record some vocals done by myself. I'm an amateur at this stuff.. but this will be great practice because I do love me some deathcore!

Tom mics.. what to buy for Focusrite Scarlett DI..

Yea I don't really know what I'm doing with the SM57s as far as positioning, and my toms are not the best sound in my opinion. I have no clue why I rolled with these heads but right now I have evans G2 coated (batter) and genera resonant (reso) on all of my toms.. I can't wait to get new heads...

Leasing My First Studio Room!! WOOO!!

Here's a more updated picture, since the floor is carpet over concrete, I decided to put down 4 quality wood-pallets on the floor and screwed thick plywood along the studs giving me an air gap between.

Tom mics.. what to buy for Focusrite Scarlett DI..

Awesome! Brutally honest. I love it. I've only been playing drums myself for 3 or 4 years, but I have a room that my band and I rent, we use it as a studio/jam room. I will post some pictures of it for you to see the room. and how I have it set up, maybe you can give me some suggestions? I made...

Tom mics.. what to buy for Focusrite Scarlett DI..

Thank you guys for the responses! I think I will be order these Audix mics here within 3 weeks, I'm pretty excited to try them out! I'm aiming to have a bigger tom sound so I'm gonna try out the newer Evans 360 heads, and use G2 clear (batter) with G1 clear (reso) on toms. I also wanna try...

Tom mics.. what to buy for Focusrite Scarlett DI..

Yea that's what I mean, lol. Sorry. That's correct it's one XLR from the mic to the interface.weet, I have used the audix Tom mics at a venue before and was blown away at how the engineer made it sound.

Tom mics.. what to buy for Focusrite Scarlett DI..

I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface, direct input from microphones, I have nothing else. I feel like I'm having a hard time with my SM57s on floor tom tone. I used my friends basic CAD mic set on a paid recording and I was even more upset, I asked him to bring his Sennheiser...

Leasing My First Studio Room!! WOOO!!

Thanks dude! My friend and I just got some more shit done too!! We finished building those absorbers " 4 - 4'x4' absorption walls " to break up the concrete crapola. And we also finished and hung the absorption cloud too. I had quite the productive week, haha. Check this out :)

Leasing My First Studio Room!! WOOO!!

I got some pallets up on the walls now! All I have left, is the drum absorption cloud, the stackable absorption cubical walls in front of the concrete wall, the carpet, and the rest of the wall / door absorption. I'm very excited, though its a slow process with 2 bands and a full time job. I...

Leasing My First Studio Room!! WOOO!!

I got the pallets finally, it is about time to start ripping the cleat or furring strip material on the table saw in half, at an angle. :) I also got some weather-stripping foam to put in-between the ripped strip and the drywall, because gypsum board and wood resonate at different frequencies...
