5150 circuit bleeds itself. Still gotta be careful.

Just build a pad to go between the DI & preamp. I built a few dif Mic cables that are pads for w/e I may nned them in 6db, 12db, 18db, 24db increments so I never have a signal that is too hot.

My used sm7 was 230$ wouldnt trade it for the world.

For now it sounds good so I am going to leave it. I am no amateur at ripping into amps and working on them so If the time comes I will reverse it all. I have a peavey windsor tha I have changed the tone stack in. Added a choke and done various other mods to. So i am not afraid to get an iron out...

Just got my blockletter 5150. This thing is gnarly... I think it might need to be retubed it has some Electro Harmonix powertubes and lord knows what in the preamp. I am wanting to put in an Integrated Quad with KT88 and 6l6's & then JJ Preamp tubes. I think it will really give me a unique tone...
