    First Mix With New Equipment

I definitely agree with what you guys have said, I kind of thought that they were a bit too loud to begin with. What do you guys think of the low end in general? I feel like the frequencies on the bass are a bit too loud, and that they can be subdued a little bit.

    First Mix With New Equipment

Upgraded a good amount of my studio gear and am back in the groove of mixing. Overall am pretty happy with how it's coming along, but still feel that there is a lot needed adjusting. Please share your opinion and don't hold back! Anything helps! Thanks for your time in advance!

    Rate My Tone/Mix (Metalcore)

Would that be because there is too much gain on the guitars?

    Rate My Tone/Mix (Metalcore)

I think I might have too much gain, my Mids are at 3 and my Trebs are at 7 on my amp. I feel like the drums sound pretty good for being SD 2.0, and that they have pretty good presence, they may not be life-like at times though. What would be suggested to make them stand out more? I agree the...

    Rate My Tone/Mix (Metalcore)

Been making adjustments to my guitar tone/mix in general over the last couple weeks. Just wanting to get some criticism on what improvements can be made on both the guitar tone & the mix itself. Thanks in advance! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10029722/Silence%20In%20Chaos%209_22_11.mp3

    Metalcore Mix-Guitar Tone Help

Hey guys, I've been trying to fix up my guitar tone some, but it's still sounding very scratchy to me. I thought there was too much gain at first, but even when lowering it, it still had that scratchy sound. Would love any tips and feedback at this point. Please feel free to comment on anything...

    My First Mix - Metalcore

I adjusted around this and everything sounds way more balanced, I just got new monitors that actually pick up the low end way better than my previous ones. The one thing I was having trouble with is trying to get the ring out of the toms. If anyone has any tips to help me out that would be much...

    My First Mix - Metalcore

Thanks for the input Lane. Yeah, I have a 60 Hz Tone on the Kick, so I lowered that some, and lowered the low end on the Kick EQ. For the toms, would I just need to find the frequency in which the ring lies and take it out?

    My First Mix - Metalcore

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Yeah, I'll definitely try to fix the sub-frequencies in the kick, and adjust some of the bass EQ to throw some more mids in there. My monitors make it hard to hear what's going on in those areas.

    My First Mix - Metalcore

Hey guys, this is the first full mix that I've done and posted. I've learned so much from these forums and want to thank all of you for the advice you guys give. Please give any constructive criticism you can! I mixed these using my bad M-Audio AV40's(Planning on upgrading very soon), so I did...

    Octave Chord Tone

I'll definitely try that and see how it sounds. Is that how a lot of producers do it? I've watched some videos of bands tracking these kind of chords and they seem to play it normal. The producer just ends up getting a sweet smooth tone from it. And they playing at about the same tempos, and...

    Octave Chord Tone

Will definitely try adding some Delay & Reverb. Should I even cut extra lows out of the amp head itself? It's gonna be octave above. That lead tone at the end of "Chrome" sounds really awesome. But I feel like just using the Octaver would just add some thickness to the sound instead of...
