The fact that the wife of the OP guy liked this song but hates every other SX song says a lot about "Without You". It's not a true SX song, just another pop ballad you could find on the radio. It's too mediocre for their standards.

It's so strange how one single thing can be viewed as opposites, even between people who share same tastes as SymX. For me this single speaks for itself. Romeo has ran out of riffs and ideas.

I've tried to make a meaning out of the whole lyrics and i just can't. Not even in the context of the Divine Comedy. Anyone has a clue? I don't want to think it's just rhyming for the sake of rhyming. If you're gonna write crappy lyrics at least make them mean something.

In a totally unrelated subject. I tried the Påskmust for the first time the other day. Pretty fucking good!

The new track has a lot of odd-time signatures, so that's technically prog metal. But that's not what you REALLY call prog huh? I guess it just depends on which kind of prog you want them to do, and im sure most will say TDWOT and TiO king of prog is the real SX prog.

Its the single people, keep that in mind. The single has to appeal to the vast majority of the "metal people" in order to get hooked. We SX fans know this song cannot be their best one. I refuse to believe that.

Chorus and solos good? Chorus is passable at most and the solo seems like a compilation from Romeo's solos in Iconoclast and PL. Didnt like it at all, but after 10+ listens im starting to like the song as a whole. i understand this is the single so im holding my breath for more complex songs...

People. Symphony X just announced a new album releasing in 2 months. I couldnt care less about the cover or the style or the vocals or the anything. I JUST WANT NEW SYMPHONY X FOR SATANS SAKE!
