they just broke up, but the singer David Eugene Edwards has a solo project called Woven Hand. The most recent WH album is half good/half mediocre, but the rest are great.

I LOVE 16 Horsepower. And as much as I like them, I have decided that I enjoy Woven Hand even more. The Blush Music album is pretty amazing, as is the WH self-titled, as are 16HP's Secret South and Folklore. Hell, all of them are really damn good.

Have they officially broken up, or is it more of a break? I remember reading something a few months ago in an interview about how the future of the band was kind of uncertain but I hadn't heard anything since then.

Also, if you enjoy 16 HP, you should check out Myssouri, who sound kind of like a mixture of 16 HP and Nick Cave and maybe some other bands too. Anyone (Jake, Avi, others?) familiar with them? I've been a pretty big fan for a while and they've been self-releasing some really great stuff for the past several years, but there was talk of them calling it quits recently as well.
