2 squier jazz basses, which one is the best?

hi. I'd like to buy a new bass for my home studio and it seems that for the price these ones are very good but i don't know which one can fit metal tones best. thanks for your help .

Having gotten a Jazz on a steal of a deal, looking back I wish I would have picked a P bass. It's not really a huge difference in the playability or construction quality, but the P pups I tend to favor. Something with a P/J combo or there's the new Schecter P-Plus which has a MM pup in the bridge and P in the middle with some other modern tweaks.

20 frets?! Is this normal? I'm not a bassist so I never really took notice...figured they'd be at least 22-24.

20 frets is standard on a J.

Both have same specs. The 70 one has great reviews for metal/rock in this price range.
