No offense but can't you just make a poll?

I thought about that - but then I can't supervise who's making the votes. How do I know someone didn't make 2 or 3 fake accounts just so they can vote multiple times?

This method, while tedious, allows me to document each person's vote. I've been watching closely to make sure that no really new people have been voting.

So the short answer is - because I wanted to.

Good point, however I doubt anyone here is a big enough loser to make several accounts to make sure that their favorite song makes #1
