For Hard Rock and Heavy Metal categories...

What do YOU think???

Thursday December 4, 2008

The nominations for the 51st annual Grammy Awards have been announced. There are only a few categories relevant to heavy metal and hard rock. Here are the nominees for those categories:

Best Hard Rock Performance
"Inside The Fire" - Disturbed
"Visions" - Judas Priest
"Wax Simulacra" - The Mars Volta
"Saints Of Los Angeles" - Mötley Crüe
"Lords Of Salem" - Rob Zombie

Best Metal Performance
"Heroes Of Our Time" - DragonForce
"Nostradamus" - Judas Priest
"My Apocalypse" - Metallica
"Under My Thumb" - Ministry
"Psychosocial" - Slipknot

Okay, after reading this list I think I'm experiencing some type of vision problem so someone may have to clarify this for me because for some reason I think I see Motley Cure listed on there....is this a bad joke or what?

Best Hard Rock: I'd have to go with Rob Zombie....John5 plays guitar on that track and I'm I big J5 fan....

Best Metal: These are the choices? Who comes up with these lists?

I'd have to pretty much agree with the "ho hum...who cares" sentiment expressed so far.I don't think metal fans have ever cared or really even payed attention to the grammys, none I've ever spoken with.

The Grammys are a joke in my opinion. If you're not Kanye West or Beyonce you're screwed. These people that make up these list wouldn't know what "true metal" was if it hit them right between the eyes! :zombie:
