I just had to share this funny experience I had on a bus ride in Leeds. 3 single mums got on a bus and one said to another "Is that your first(child), are you having any more?" to which she replied "not with him". A question was then asked "why don't you work?" to which one of the single mums replied "there's no point, i'd have to pay rent then". They also spoke about how they haven't used a bus in years. I found this extremely amusing. Have you ever had any funny experiences with young single mums?

What a perfect example of socialist programs helping disadvantaged people to become productive members of society again.

What are we supposed to be discussing here anyway - the "horrors" of tax-funded benefits programs? I think we do that enough in the news and politics threads.

No, that is what jumped out at me (As usual). He wanted the board to respond with other interesting over-heard conversations.

No conversations, but I was shouted at a couple of weeks ago by a woman (no older than 20) for not holding a door open for her and her three brats. It took all the restraint I had to not suggest that she'd be better off if only she'd considered these potential dilemmas before opening her legs. I figured I'd probably be stabbed if I said anything.

I check out the GMD Social Forum for the first time in like two years, and the first thing I see is a Profanity thread - seems like 2010 will be a good year! Start posting more often, Prof, you're a true forum legend
